Lieutenant Gen. Kenneth F. McKenzie, Jr., prepares to relinquish command of U.S. Marine Corps Forces Central Command to Lt. Gen. Dave “Smoke” Beydler during a change of command ceremony at the Surf’s Edge aboard Air Force Base MacDill, Oct. 27, at 9:00 a.m. Sergeant Maj. Larry Fineran, MARCENT sergeant major, salutes after passing the MARCENT battle colors to McKenzie, who in turn would hand the colors over to Beydler symbolizing the transfer of command. General Robert B. Neller, 37th Commandant of the Marine Corps, presided over the ceremony.
