Captain <br /> Anibal D. Rodriguez HQ Company Commander
Captain Rodriguez was born on 31 May, 1985 in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico to Evelyn and Luis Rodriguez. Growing up in Jacksonville, Florida, he graduated from Providence School in 2003 and subsequently enrolled and graduated from the University of North Florida with a B.S. in Civil Engineering in May 2008. While at UNF, Capt Rodriguez enrolled in the Platoon Leaders Course, attending Officer Candidate School in Quantico, Va in July 2005 for juniors and completing the seniors increment in August 2007. Upon graduation from UNF, he was commissioned a second lieutenant.

Second Lieutenant Rodriguez completed the 5-08 Basic Officer Course at The Basic School in December of 2008. Upon completion of TBS, 2ndLt Rodriguez completed the 2-09 Infantry Officer Course in April 2009. Upon completing IOC, 2ndLt Rodriguez checked in to Company G, 2d Battalion, 2d Marines as a rifle platoon commander.

In October of 2009, 2ndLt Rodriguez deployed to Helmand Province, Afghanistan where he served as a rifle platoon commander conducting partnered operations with the ANA and ANP until redeploying in May 2010.

In May 2010, he was promoted to First Lieutenant. In August 2010, 1stLt Rodriguez joined a training team made up of SNCOs and officers from 2/2 to train the Georgian 32d Light Infantry Battalion in Hohenfels, Germany. This training certified the 32d Battalion for their subsequent deployment to Helmand Province, Afghanistan where they successfully served alongside U.S. Marines.

In September 2010 1stLt Rodriguez took over Weapons Platoon, Co F, 2d Battalion, 2d Marines deploying with the 22 Marine Expeditionary Unit in April 2011. During this deployment 1stLt Rodriguez conducted multiple land based and ship based training in Sierra del Retin, Spain and Arta, Djibouti with a heavy emphasis on fire support at the company level and helo-borne raid packages.

In July, 2012 First Lieutenant Rodriguez reported to his current duty station to serve as the Protocol Officer and subsequently the Company Commander, Headquarters Company, Marine Corps Forces Central Command aboard MacDill Air Force Base.

On 1 August 2012, First Lieutenant Rodriguez was promoted to Captain.

Captain Rodriguez resides in Tampa, Florida. He enjoys water sports, riding his motorcycle, and Jaguars football.

Captain Rodriguez’s personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with combat distinguishing device and gold star in lieu of second award and the Combat Action Ribbon.
