Sergeant Major Daniels reported to Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, South Carolina in 1998 for recruit training. Upon
graduation, he received training at the School of Infantry (SOI) at Camp Geiger, North Carolina, he received the Military Occupation
Skill (MOS) 0311.
In August 1998, following SOI he was selected to be part of the burial detail at 8th and I Marine Barracks Washington, District of
Columbia. While there he had an opportunity to participate in the burial of the famous Makin Raiders. In 2001, Sergeant Daniels was
selected to be on the security detail of the Joint Chiefs of Staff where he served as the Personal Security Officer for the Vice Chairman
of the Joint Chiefs of Staff under General Peter Pace.
In January 2003, Sergeant Daniels reported to 3d Battalion, 3d Marines in Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii. He served as a squad leader for 2nd
Platoon India Company. In 2004, he deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, Phase II as the Platoon Sergeant for 2nd
Platoon. In 2006, he was promoted to Staff Sergeant and deployed to Operation Iraqi Freedom Phase IV as the Weapons Platoon
Sergeant.
In March 2007, he reported to Drill Instructor School, Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, California. Staff Sergeant Daniels
received the leadership award upon graduating from Drill Instructor School and reported to 1st Recruit Training Battalion, Delta
Company. While serving with 1st Recruit Training Battalion, he was promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant. Gunnery Sergeant
Daniels served as a Junior Drill Instructor, Senior Drill Instructor, Chief Drill Instructor and Battalion Operations Chief.
In March 2010, Gunnery Sergeant Daniels reported to 1st Battalion, 6th Marines in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, to serve as the
Company Gunnery Sergeant for Charlie Company call sign "Cold Steel."
In June 2011, he deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. While there he was selected to the rank of First Sergeant.
In April of 2012, First Sergeant Daniels reported for duty to serve as the Company First Sergeant of Alpha Company, Marine Wing
Communications Squadron-28 aboard Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, North Carolina.
In August 2013, First Sergeant Daniels reported for duty to serve as the Inspector- Instructor First Sergeant, Engineer Services
Company, Combat Logistics Battalion 23 4th MLG Springfield, Oregon.
In October 2016, First Sergeant Daniels reported for duty to 2d Maintenance Battalion, Combat Logistics Regiment 25, 2d Marine
Logistics Group. During his time with 2D Maintenance Battalion he served as the Company First Sergeant for Ordnance Maintenance
Company and Headquarters & Service Company.
In November 2017, he was selected to the rank of Sergeant Major. In December, he assumed the duties as the Sergeant Major for the
Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training, Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, North Carolina.
In December 2019, he assumed duties as the Sergeant Major for Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 361, Marine Air Group 16, 3d
Marine Air Wing.
In March 2022, he assumed his current duties as the Sergeant Major for I MEF Information Group.
In January 2024, he assumed his current duties as the SEL for the Marine Corps Training Mission - United Arab Emirates.
Sergeant Major Daniels' personal awards include the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal (Gold star in lieu of 3rd award), Navy
Commendation Medal (Gold star in lieu of 3rd award), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (Gold star in lieu of 3rd award),
and the Combat Action ribbon.
