U.S. Marine Corps Sergeant Develops Total Force Deployment Dashboard to Win CENTCOM’s Innovation Oasis II Competition

U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Steven Matsunaga won the CENTCOM Innovation Oasis II competition for developing a Total Force Deployment Dashboard (TFDD) to analyze and control large record quantities. Matsunaga received the Defense Meritorious Service Medal and aims to deploy the TFDD program across the military planning and execution community. The competition showcased innovative ideas from service members and DoD civilians, fostering a culture of problem-solving and providing a platform for presenting ideas to senior military officials. Matsunaga emphasized the importance of understanding problems, advocating for solutions, and leaders embracing change for improvement, regardless of rank or experience.

Exercise Intrepid Maven 23.2 begins in Israel

TEL AVIV, Isr. – Approximately 200 Marines and Sailors, alongside partnering infantry and artillery elements of the Israeli Defense Force, are participating in Exercise Intrepid Maven 23.2, set to occur at various locations within Israel from 19 February to 1 March, 2023.

USMARCENT begins Native Fury 22 in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Central Command began Exercise NATIVE FURY 22, Aug 9, 2022. In its 8th iteration, NF 22 is a biennial MARCENT-led exercise focused on the demonstration of the rapid offload and integration of a Maritime Pre-Positioned Force in the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility in support of regional security, crisis response, and contingency operations. Supported by the U.S. Army’s 1st Theater Sustainment Command, the exercise is utilizing the port facilities at Yanbu and Al Bayadh, Prince Sultan SAU Air Base.

USMC, UAE Start Mil Engagement Falcon Sentry

MACDILL AIR FORCE BASE, TAMPA - The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Armed Forces Joint Aviation Command (JAC) and the U.S. Marines with Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force-Crisis Response-Central Command (SPMAGTF-CR-CC) have started a three-day bilateral military engagement, today, to reinforce and demonstrate their bilateral live-fire capabilities. The engagement will include live-fire air assaults, fire support coordination with indirect fires and Close Air Support (CAS), and marksmanship and small-unit training.
