23 Sep 2020

MACDILL AIR FORCE BASE, TAMPA - The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Armed Forces Joint Aviation Command (JAC) and the U.S. Marines with Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force-Crisis Response-Central Command (SPMAGTF-CR-CC) have started a three-day bilateral military engagement, today, to reinforce and demonstrate their bilateral live-fire capabilities. The engagement will include live-fire air assaults, fire support coordination with indirect fires and Close Air Support (CAS), and marksmanship and small-unit training.

The engagement demonstrates the levels of bilateral proficiency and commitment our countries bring to the region in support of regional stability, security, and prosperity.

SPMAGTF-CR-CC serves as the U.S. Marine Corps’ crisis response force to the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility, providing support to Operation Inherent Resolve, regional partner nations, and other U.S. interests. This force operates out of several locations in the region.

After more than 40 years of partnership, the U.S. and the UAE enjoy robust bilateral cooperation on a full range of issues including defense, non-proliferation, trade, law enforcement, energy policy, and cultural exchange.
