Family Readiness

In direct support of the MARCENT mission to support the CENTCOM Area of Responsibility (AOR), the MARCENT Deployment Readiness Coordinator supports Marines and Families in time of peace, crisis, and war with information and resources that improves quality of life, prepares families for extended deployment separations, sustains them during deployment and facilitates smooth family reintegration following deployment.

VISION: To provide resources and outlets to Marines and Families of MARCENT, build camaraderie, encourage community involvement and improve family readiness to meet the demands of today's operating environment. Bridge the informational gap between families of individual augments and their deployed Marines.

Family readiness is a combat multiplier to MARCENT’s overall combat readiness. Whether in Tampa or while deployed, family readiness is the ability of each Marine, Sailor and family to successfully balance life, career and mission events. Family readiness in MARCENT is all about connecting and looking out for each other.

A key to successful family readiness is being well informed, and MARCENT's Family Readiness Program is designed to promote communication. I define family as all members of a Marine’s family and every Marine and Sailor regardless of rank or marital status will receive support from our program. While the individual Marines and Sailors are responsible for their own family’s readiness, it is the responsibility of the MARCENT Command Team to ensure that the Marines and Sailors have the tools necessary to successfully achieve family readiness. Family readiness is all about connecting and looking out for each other and in doing so, the MARCENT Command Team will work our hardest to:

• Maintain a network that provides information, help, referrals and support for our families
• Maintain an open and effective communication link between the staff and families
• Assist families in finding and using available base and community resources
• Provide a non-threatening emotional support network during times of difficulty and/or crisis

Mr. Daniel Abate is the MARCENT Family Readiness Officer and he assists the Commanding General with the execution of our Family Readiness Program, which includes providing constant, consistent, professional and accurate communication to Marines, Sailors and families. Mr. Abate is here to assist you in any way that he can. Do not hesitate to contact him with any questions or concerns.Thank you for your continued support and Semper Fidelis.
