Beydler, Commander U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Central Command, at MacDill Airforce Base on November 8. General Votel visited the MARCENT Headquarters for a staff brief and tour of the facility. Additionally he recognized six MARCENT Marines for superior performance in their duties and provided them each one of his 4-star challenge coins.

United States Marine Corps Forces, Central Command bid farewell to its senior enlisted leader and welcomed another during a relief and appointment ceremony held at the Davis Conference Center aboard Air Force Base MacDill, in Tampa, Fla., June 30. Sergeant Maj. William T. Thurber replaced Sgt. Maj. Lawrence P. Fineran as sergeant major of MARCENT. Lieutenant Gen. William D. Beydler, MARCENT commander, presided over the event, that also doubled as a retirement ceremony for Fineran.

Puller is the first U.S ship to be commissioned outside the United States, and the ship's reclassification provides U.S. Central Command and 5th Fleet greater flexibility to better meet regional challenges.

TAMPA, Fla. – Corporal Brian P. Johnson is presented the Purple Heart medal by Lieutenant. Gen. William D. Beydler Mar. 17, 2016, at a ceremony MacDill Air Force Base, Fla. Johnson received the Purple Heart for injuries he sustained on 26 July 2006, during combat operations with Combined Regimental Combat Team 5, in Fallujah, Iraq. Johnson completed his active service in November of 2006. Beydler is the Commanding General of Marine Corps Forces Central Command.

TAMPA, Fla. – Master Sgt. Adrian M. Marquez Ayala is presented the Purple Heart medal by Lieutenant. Gen. William D. Beydler Mar. 17, 2016, at a ceremony MacDill Air Force Base, Fla. Marquez received the Purple Heart for injuries he sustained on 8 November 2004, during Operation PHANTOM FURY in Fallujah, Iraq. Marquez is currently assigned to Wounded Warrior Battalion, Tampa Detachment. Beydler is the Commanding General of Marine Corps Forces Central Command.
